Sunday, June 5

Meeting Location: Ford Nationals, Carlisle Fairgrounds, Carlisle PA by MEB Tent. Please have your tow rig / RV  and trailer & Bronco loaded, fueled up and ready to go.  We recommend checking out of Western Village RV Park or your hotel Sunday morning and bringing your tow rig over to the Ford Nationals and park in the RV /Trailer parking lot next to the Fire Department so that we can leave directly from the show.

Description: For those wanting to travel as a group, we will head up to Blue Rocks Campground from Carlisle. MEB will provide dinner after arrival at Blue Rocks Campground. Blue Rocks offers RV and Tent sites and Cabins.

Distance and Duration: 80 miles, 1.5 hours.

Monday, June 6

 

Destination: Trail Rides at Blue Rocks

 

Meeting Location: In front of Blue Rocks Camp Office

 

Meeting Time: 8:30a.m.

 

Cost: $5 day use fee for those staying offsite, standard campsite and cabin rates apply.

 

Description:
Blue Rock Campground is owned and operated by two brothers, Jed and Zach Wood, lifelong Ford enthusiasts who own several Broncos and even have them as their official “Park Ranger” campground vehicles.

This is a chance to wheel at a private campground that can really be fun and which has a truly amazing glacial boulder field in the heart of the campground which has been visited and studied by people from around the world.  We will spend a full day exploring the network of trails that Jed and Zach have carved out over the last 30 years which are normally not open to the public

Meeting Location: In front of Blue Rocks office, we will stop at Cabela's to pick up people from the hotel

Park Fees:  All fees paid onsite to AOAA. $30.00 per Driver/Vehicle, $10 for passengers

 

Description: The NC AOAA Authority leases approximately 6,5000 acres of coal lands in lower Northumberland County for the purposes of actively managing a family oriented motorized and non-motorized recreation facility. The AOAA officially opened in May of 2014. In addition to recreation, the AOAA property contains very unique and attractive features for motorized and non-motorized recreation. The property also is leased to several active mining companies, has many unique environmental features, rich mining history, and varying soils.

Distance and Duration: 50 miles, 1:20 from Blue Rocks to AOAA. 35 miles, 0:45 from AOAA to Twin Grove. 

All day travel to and trail rides at AOAA, followed by group move onto Twin Grove Campground.

Wednesday, June 8

 

Destination:  Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Museum

Meeting Location:  Twin Grove Campgrounds

 

Meeting Time: 8:45 a.m.

 

Cost: $5 MEB Members & Family*, $20 Non-members.

 

Includes:

  • Admission to the Museum
  • Private guided behind the scenes tour (access to vehicle storage garages to items not on display to the public)
  • Group aerial photo of Broncos in front of Museum
  • Lunch provided for our group in the Rotunda.

Description: The Antique Automobile Club of America Museum, a proud affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, is a world-class automotive experience. Children and adults of all ages can explore numerous vintage vehicle displays and interactive exhibits featuring cars, buses, motorcycles, and other automobiles from the 1890s through the 1980s. A visit to the AACA Museum is a one-of-a-kind journey of discovery and entertainment for the entire family and is dedicated to the preservation and presentation of vintage automobiles and their vast history.

 

We expect to arrive at 10AM. The tour will take about two hours, after which we will have lunch, and then the group photos.  There will be a Summer-long exhibit “Early Off-Roaders; Vintage SUVs Featuring 50 Years of the Ford Bronco and over 75 years of the Jeep” with other rare and unique SUVs on display as well as traditional classic and antiques.

 

Following the AACA Museum visit, participants will be free to go back and look further at displays in the Museum, or you can take in some of the local attractions such as Hershey Park, Chocolate World, etc., or to head back to Twin Grove to relax or help prepare for the Bronco Roundup.

 

Distance and Duration: Approximately 50 mile round trip from Twin Grove Campground. 

Half day street cruise and tour to museum.
